The Federal health insurance marketplace healthcare.gov will reopen on Feb. 15th and stay open through May 15th. During this time any legal U.S. resident can sign up for a health insurance plan with no health questions asked. In addition, many will qualify for tax credits to help lower their monthly costs based on their income.

President Biden will soon sign an executive order that will reopen the Health insurance exchange for several months to allow those who missed the last open enrollment to obtain health insurance. This will help the millions of Americans who have lost their employer based health insurance due to the pandemic. The new administration is also planning to expand Medicaid and the premium subsidies in order to cover more people.

During this time any legal U.S. resident can enroll in a healthcare plan with no health questions asked and no pre-existing condition limitations applied. In addition many individuals will qualify for tax credits to help lower the monthly cost. Even if you already have a healthcare plan you should shop on Healthcare.gov as new plans have entered the marketplace which may better suit your needs

Medicare's annual open enrollment period begins on Oct. 15th and ends on Dec. 7t. During this time, anyone who is Medicare eligible can enroll in a Medicare insurance plan or make changes to their current plan. Information on the current plans is available now so that Medicare recipients  can review their options so they can make an informed decision when the open enrollment begins.

If you already have an Obamcare plan it's important to log in to Healthcare.com and update your information and compare plans to be sure you still have the right plan for your situation. But don't delay, the open enrollment only lasts for 45 days and after that you must have a qualifying event in order to change health plans.
